Terms of use

What this site does, what it does not do, and what you are agreeing to by using it.

Last updated 29 September 2026.

Read this part if you read nothing else

AnaPlexus reads your documents with software, and software misreads things. A court date it found may be wrong. A deadline it calculated may be wrong. A document it marked low priority may be the most important one you own.

Check every date against the document itself. Do not let this tool be the only thing standing between you and a filing deadline. It is a net for things you might otherwise miss, not a substitute for reading your own mail.

1. What this site is

anaplexus.com is a console. It lets you reach a copy of AnaPlexus running on your own computer, from a browser somewhere else.

It holds accounts, and a list of which servers exist and who belongs to them. It does not hold your documents, does not process them, and does not decide what you are allowed to do — your own server does all three.

2. What it is not

It is not legal advice. AnaPlexus identifies documents, extracts dates and sorts things by apparent urgency. None of that is advice about your case, your rights or your options, and none of it comes from a lawyer. If a document matters, consult one.

It is not a system of record. Your documents live on your machine. Back them up. This site holds nothing that would help you recover them.

It is not a filing service. Nothing here files anything with any court, pays any bill or responds to anything on your behalf.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your password and for the authenticator on your phone. We cannot reset either: your vault is encrypted with a key derived from your password, so a password reset we could perform would mean an encryption we could break.

One account, one person. Do not share sign-in details — invite people to your server with their own codes instead, which is what the roles are for.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

4. Servers and roles

Joining a server needs a code issued by that server, your own credentials on it, and an administrator's approval. What you can then do — view, edit or administer — is set on the server, not here. This site shows you what your role permits; your server enforces it.

The first person to redeem a server's founding code becomes its founding administrator. That account cannot afterwards be deleted, demoted or switched off by anyone, including itself. This is deliberate, it is permanent, and you should choose that account accordingly.

Do not attempt to reach a server you have not been invited to, or to use a role you were not given. Both are attempts to gain unauthorised access to someone else's computer.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break into anything, to disrupt it for others, to hold material you have no right to hold, or to do anything unlawful where you are. Do not attempt to circumvent the rate limits or the lockouts — they exist to protect other people's documents as much as your own.

We may suspend an account that is doing any of the above.

6. Paying for Claude

AnaPlexus needs access to Anthropic's Claude to read documents. There are two ways to pay for it:

The second option means your documents travel through a machine we control. For confidential legal material that may not be acceptable to you or permitted by your obligations. Use your own key if so — it is also cheaper.

Subscriptions are billed in advance and can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. Usage already incurred is payable.

7. Availability

We make no promise that this site will be available. It may be down for maintenance, or because something broke.

This matters less than it would elsewhere: the site is a convenience, not a dependency. If it is down, your documents are still on your machine and the desktop application still opens them. Nothing you own is behind this site.

8. Liability

The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which for most people is nothing, because the site is free.

In particular, we are not liable for a missed deadline, whether because a date was extracted wrongly, a reminder did not arrive, the site was unavailable, or for any other reason. Section 0 says why: check every date yourself. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the console. We can close an account that breaks section 5.

Either way, your documents are unaffected — they were never here.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim closer to home.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will date this page and say what changed. Continuing to use the site after that is acceptance.

12. Contact

Write to hello@anaplexus.com.

These terms describe how the software actually behaves. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and should be before this site takes payment from anyone.
